Not sure if the man in this calendar image is anyone specific, but what he is carrying on his back is important. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tzolk%27in The other thing about this calendar is that it is not the same as the other types you see, especially the carved ones from the old days. They mostly have a face in the middle, or maybe a head.
